I want to read 2 Kohler electric meter, that electric meter have RS485 ports. I use S7 1200 cpu. I want to ask Is it possible only using a rs485 communication module and using modbus block?

What model of meter are you using? Are they Modbus RTU, RS-485 slaves?

If so, and if you have the Modbus mapping for the Modbus registers, then you probably can use the CM 1241 (with RS 422/485 interface) to communicate with them, using the S7-1200 Modbus functions.

I use Kohler AEL.TF.12 meter.I think it is only slave, with pc control sending some quaestion after that youtake answer from meter. I will try your advice. Thank you.
