KP300 HELP

Hi All,

I have an S7-1200 (CPU 1212C AC/DC/Rly V4.1) with a KP300 HMI.(6AV6 647-0AH11-3AX0 V12.0)

I'm trying to learn the basics with this panel but Im getting frustrated as there's very little literature on this panel on the net.

I can connect to the panel and upload a screen with some graphics etc.... I can also navigate to other screens using the softkey buttons. 

I can also share tags with the PLC so Im assuming all the connection issues are fine but for the life of me I cant update a tag value with a softkey press.

Say for instance softkey(F6), I can create an event to invertbit once the key is pressed I can also assign the tag from the PLC to this event. Once I download the update to the HMI I cant see the bit change on the PLC once the softkey is pressed? Im sure its something silly Im doing wrong or some other setting? Been at it for hours now ans such a simple task :-(

I also need to display text which can show the state of a particular bit i.e. ON/OFF

Its set to 1s, I cant see 'cycle continuously'

I have now changed it to 'Release Key' but it still wont work.

What is this for (see picture) when I select 'HMI_Connection_1' for project id then download do the device, i get the message 'checking project id' then it shutsdown?

Do you need to use project ID if your only using one HMI or CPU?

Getting frustrated as this should be something so simple..

Still stuck on the tags not updating with a softkey event? Any other ideas for me to check.

P.S. Also found Acquistion mode and changed to continuous 

** UPDATE **

If I run the simulator with tag table I can get the value to change on the bit, but in the real world its not changing on the PLC?
