Hello all. Has anyone tried to connect an external keyboard to the 2nd generation of basic panels. In the introduction text of the panel this is stated: The innovative user interface opens up a wide range of operations with improved usability through new controls and graphics. The new USB interface allows you to connect a keyboard, mouse and barcode scanner and supports easy archiving of data on a USB stick. I tried to connect a normal USB keyboard to the panel but it doesn't work... Any ideas? Cheers. Aleix |

Hi Poljo, Surely you could connect any USB devices as (mouse or keyboard) and they should work normally, then about your problem try to replace your existing keyboard with other standard new keyboard and try again. There was only one caution you should take into consideration in selecting the USB devices that those devices shouldn't consume more than 500 mA as it is the maximum provided current from the USB hub in HMI panel. N.B Commercial USB devices weren't recommended to be used with HMI panels because they were not fulfilling the interfacing resistance with the panel and surely this could disinfect your HMI after some while. Hoping to find this answer helpful, Regards; Ahmed Kadry |
