KTP1000, HMI "defective"

Dear colleagues, please advice - I'm a beginner with KTP1000 panel, have a project on PLC (which is Ok) , and want to add HMI panel I have there. I can make online connection, but message window says the HMI "defective" - pls see attached file. Seems that it is "OS update" issue, is not it ?  May I follow this procedure ?

Q2. How can I import tags from PLC part of the project (PLC now in the field, so I can not make online connection to it) into HMI part of the project

Q1: I don't know about the "defective" part. OS update might be necessary, yes. Do you find any more information if you look in the "Online & diagnostics" part of the HMI (while online, of course)?
Is the HMI connection ok? Can you ping the panel? Does the screen flash when you activate "Flash LED" under "Online Access" in the diagnostic?

Q2:

You still have the PLC part of the Project? In the screenshot it looks like it. So you're good.

Make the connection loke described below. Once the HMI part is downloaded to the panel which is connected to the PLC it connects when all names (connection and PLC parts" are the same as configured before.

You can use the simulation to check your HMI without loading it to the panel.

Option 1:

• Open a tag table (HMI tags > desired tag table),
• add a new tag with <add new>,
• change  the "Connection" (from <internal tag>) to your HMI Connection by klicking on <internal tag> and then selecting the correlating HMI connetion in the new small window. 
• In the row "PLC tag" click on [...] and select the PLC, then the desired block (DB) in the folder "Program blocks".
• After selecting the block look for the tag you want, then klick on the green check mark.

Option 2:

• You can directly link to the PLC tag where you use it.
• Example: Add an I/O-field and go to Properties > General Process > Tag > [...]
• Select the PLC tag like described in Option 1.
• Now you find the HMI tag with the correct connection in the default tag table.

If you need the tag again you can click on the list-Symbol next to the [...] button or start writing the first letters of the name, for faster access.

regarding OS update - i did it, and can download now test project to panel, it's ok. But if I try to check online connection in online & diagnostics, still the message of "defective" panel exists (from my prev. screenshot, and in some post on the forum I've read that this is ok for old Basic panels, they just are not able to be in "online" mode), but project download works, transfer mode on HMI turns on automatically while downloading. 

Regarding tags - thanks much for explanation, because i'd have read much much text in info system, but no time for learning, as usual, thanks !

We have the same problem with TP900 Comfort. Is this a "normal" thing?

Project was migrated from TIA12 to TIA13 SP1.
