KTP1000 HMI showing White screen after OS Update

We are commissioning a system which contains 2 Nos KTP1000-DP HMI Touch panels/ MLFB No : 6AV6 647-0AE11-3AX0

When we tried to download the HMI project into both the HMI panels ( Using WinCC Flexible 2008+SP3 ) , they asked for OS Update.

On Completion of OS Update both panels are not booting up and showing a White screen with following details at the Bottom :

KTP1000 Basic DP

bootloader V1.42

(2013-01-17)

We are not able to Factory Reset / communicate with the HMI Panels in any way.

Any ideas,how to proceed further an download the projects in HMI Touch panels

I have almost same problem with two OP73. After upgrade of OS, download programms is possible only one time, and then it is not possible to communicate with panelby Profibus or MPI. The OP73 starts, but does not communicate with CPU. Communication sytem of panel is fully crashed.

I really hope Siemens will correct these bugs very fastly, because this is ahuge problem for us.

did you find something? i have a problem like that and siemens ask me to send the hmi to the repairing service... and it is expensive for a software issue....

How do you do an "Operating system update" (OS update) or "Reset to factory settings" on operator panels? :

In our case , we used Prosave and RS232/PPI Multi Master cable to reset the KTP1000 and the problem was solved.

The factory reset starts but when "cleaning flash memory" starts, an error with the memory appears (or timeout error).

 This seems to be a bad news .... it probably indicates an internal memory problem in the unit ...
Was the unit working properly before you tried OS Update ?

What software / Hardware are you using to reset the HMI ?
 ( We used Prosave + PC-PPI cable ( RS232-PPI ). It worked well for 3 units which had this problem.

Yes in this condition, you will need Resetting the Operating System to the Factory Settings
via PPI Multi-Master Cable ( Pl see the procedure in attachment )

Are you using a RS232 / PPI cable ? Try slowing down the transfer speed.

Are you using a RS232 / PPI cable ? Try slowing down the transfer speed.

 Yes, as advised by INGELM pl try and slow down the baud rate. You may have to try several times before success. ( I had to try 7-8 times before succeeding ).


Also try to use a PC with Onboard RS232 port instead of a USB<->RS232 Convertor
