KTP400PN Basic 2nd gen - backup?

vulpes Advanced Member Joined: 5/18/2015 Last visit: 11/9/2020 Posts: 67 Rating: (2)	Hi! I just got a hold on new HMI Siemens 6AV2 123-2DB03-0AX0 KTP400PN color Basic Panel. There is a program on it, which I'd like to back up. I searched for some information, downloaded some manuals and here is the thing. 1. I tried to use ProSave but I guess it does not support this panel. 2. I set up clean TIA v13 project but upload is impossible. I found devices IP by searching for online accesible devices. 3. I tried to backup using USB, I found some video on YT but without the details how to perform it. My guess is that it must be done by entering transfer menu while screen boots up. Problem is 2 out of 3 buttons do not react. Screen shows them, Transfer and Settings buttons are grey, appear inactive, but Start is white. Anyhow screen is up only for 1-2s and HMI starts up. Pushing any button does not lead to any menu.... How can \| backup whats on this HMI?

I just downloaded v13.0.1.0 ProSave updt 5. I had also v13 but some older (2014) version and now new one connected to this panel, I guess it did not support 2nd generation. 2. USB backup - where do I execute it? I guess in 'transfer' menu that I can enter while device boots up... problem is I cant enter this menu, buttons are inactive. Is it possible to block it by some project configuration?

You could do a backup (Prosave or USB Stick -> "Service and Commissioning") but it is only a image that you could load on the same Panel device or of the same kind of Panel (KTP400BasicPN 2nd Gen). You CANNOT use this Backup for Engineering!! For this you need always the TIA Portal Project of the Panel. Bye Murof

I know I will not be able to use it as uploaded project, just to transfer it to another HMI in case of brake down. Manual says only about WinCC or Prosave backup: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/mdm/90114350?c=56845166219&lc=en-WW I want to use USB. I put USB pendrive to USB port and...? what next?
