Dear Sirs,

We are trying to install new GSD file for Kukla DWC-7A weighing electronics in HW, but we receive an error message (please see the attachment for gsd and error message)

We are using PCS7 v5.2 with Simatic Manager v5.1 on Windows NT OS

We had also tried to install original gsd file from internet. Link:

but we receive the same error message

Please advise what we can do to start communication with Kukla

I guess your SW is too old to interpret the GSD-syntax.

With Step7 5.6 I had no problems to install the GSD

it is no B&R device.

when you open the GSD you will find the manufacturer.

Thank you for fast response.

Kukla is using B&R control system in theirs weighing control system.

Original gsd file from B&R (link in first post) is then translated by Kukla (Attached in first post)

And yes, in Step7 V5.4 or 5.5 is working fine

In general we are using the following component developed app 2008 / 2009

Your Step 7 Version is from the early 2000s, at least 15 years old and much older than the Profibus-controller.

So we need to figure out, is it a general problem with the old Step7 for the newer controller

Or is it a wrong translation of the .gsd by KUKLA

Would you be so kind to download and try the original BR/Hilscher GSD  with your Step7 V5.1

Download under:

and open “Fieldbus equipment description files”

to download the original GSD from the product.

If you can load that file WITHOUT error we have a good chance to integrate the 10 PLC output-doublewords and the 14 input-dw’s manually.

You should see the modules in our fieldbus manual too.

If that original file also comes up with an error you need to update your Step7 but I am afraid that is not so easy.

Both files, original and KUKLA edition for sure works with an actual Step7 V5.6

Hundreds of customers are using that interface.

So can we communicate with Kukla in other way - insert universal modul ...etc...?
