Leading "0" for time display

cesar.loayza Regular Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	Hi, I have a enquiry that may sound silly...I was trying to look for an option in the I/O Field Object in WinCC to display a leading "0" to time values like: "00:00", "12:05"but I couldn't find anything. We are using one tag for "minutes" and another one for "hours" and so far we only could show something like this: " 0 : 0" or " 12 : 5 ". Is there any way to do what i want to do? Regards,

Because basically, we want to display in a better way some input/output variables (decimal) that are sent/received (our PLC converts them into time or real format depending whether it is a input or output) to use them for some time schedule settings. The operator enter and monitor values using the wincc screen, and they say that it would look better to have "00:00" instead of " 0: 0" and so on....that's all, it's for visual purposes. I will try to use the VBS script.... Thanks you

Sydney Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2008 Last visit: 9/26/2024 Posts: 703 Rating: (96)	Hello, another possibility is to have two I/O fields and between them the text field with ":" Concerning the I/O fields, for the leading zero is good enough to set the Output format attribute to 099. It's ok for the display only, but if operator should set the value, then it means settwo values and in addition you have tomake some confirmation for thePLC that the values are valid for use, otherwise the PLC get the wrong value (change of minutes and hours are not in one time). btw: What I do is just one tag (word) in which one byte means hours count and second the minutes. Then you get the consistent data all the time. In the I/O field is a parsing and string display,while changing there is parsing of string, conversion to numbers and joining into one tag. For me it does not work! I vaguely remember in the old COROS systems we used to do this but in WinCCit doesn't work. Regards

That means if you want to display 800 (for example) with a leading 0, the format has to be 09999. If you declare the format as 0999 the leading 0 will be omitted. Sorry for the confusion... Regards
