Janac Posts: 134 Rating: (11)	Hi, I am wondering will RT licence for WinCC 6.0 SP4 work on WinCC 6.0 SP3 system? If not, can it be downgraded, or what is the solution if there is no way to buy SP3 licence? Thanks in advance.

Licensing The authorizations used up to WinCC V6.0 SP2 continue to remain valid and can also be managed with the Automation License Manager. Please note, however, that vice versa, older WinCC 6.0 versions (V6.0, V6.0 SP1 and V6.0 SP2) do not accept WinCC V6.0 SP4 licenses. regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Since the upgrade from v6.0 SP3 to v6.0 SP4 is free, and licenses from v6.0 SP3 work on SP4, have you considered upgrading the system to v6.0 SP4? Oh... be sure to check compatibility for other Siemens software before doing this (SimaticNet and SQL Server come with the upgrade, but other softwares, such as, Step7 may be a problem). Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi Janac, Sorry to insist on this, but why are the upgrades not possible - is it a logistics issue or would it lead to other software incompatibility? If it's a logistics issue, please post your current system configuration (number of servers, redundancy or not, clients, stand-alone stations, options involved, etc). If upgrading really isn't an option at all for some reason you could probably contact your local salesperson, or Siemens Hotline. For v6.0 SP3 you must have an "autorization", managed by AuthorsW. For v6.0 SP4 you have a "licence key". License keys were introduced in 2003. They're managed by "Automation License Management", instead of "AuthorsW". You can read some more on the differences between them on this link, and also this one. As you can see from the links, a license key cannot be "turned into" an authorization. I believe Siemens always assumes customers should use the latest software version possible. Best regards, Danielle

Janac Posts: 134 Rating: (11)	UPDATE: Licences works. On the box of the package it is written : Wincc 6.0 SP4 Runtime Powertags 128 ,and onthe diskette it is written WinCC/RT 128 v6.0 sp3/sp4
