Life cycle of a product

Hello guys,

can anyone explain the difference between product cancellation and discontinuation?

I have searched for particular network ESM module and I don't understand the terms that are used to describe a product life cycle.

Please have a look in the attached file. I have found out that this product is no longer available for purchase, but I don't know what year 2022 means in the description.

Phase-out Announcement:

Last time buy period. The product is available for 1 year without restrictions. This period is intended to extend the plant or to fill the spare part stock on customer site.

Product Cancellation:
Begin of the spare part phase and/or repair phase. Hardware: 9 years (exception are Industry-PC and monitors: 4 years). Spare parts are available in "small quantities". The disposable quantities are not intended for plant extensions.

Product Discontinuation:
End of spare part delivery, end of repairs, end of customer support.
