Josh Elliott Posts: 204 Rating: (29)	Hi, We are having a project in wincc flexible.....which most of the tags are in linear scaling but when i converted that project to tia portal.......the tags are showing red mark in linear scaling....... please find the errors screen shots in the attachment(comparison between flexible and tia) Attachment error.zip (263 Downloads)

VW is for S7-200 series and I don't think they are available in TiA portal, did you migrate to s7-300? To which plc address is yourhmi tagconnected? Have you already tried to create a hmi tag (not connected to plc) and scale it? kind regards, Jens

Now i have converted this to TIA wincc project for KP400.... No,i didn't migrated to s7-200....its converting vw as int but showing the red marks. I have a doubt that how a VW supporting floating or real in previous why not now??? Note:we are communicating with the s7-200 successfully and all the values are transferring even the problemed tags are communicating if i removed floating points.

Hi Josh, note that a real is 32bits (dword) and a word is 16bits. With the linear scaling function yourhmi will simply convert a floating point number (given in an IO field) to a corresponding integer number (or DINT, or REAL,...), the value ranges will be linearly mapped. With the connection set up properly and the s7-200 driver selected, you should be able to insert VW addresses and linear scale them.
