Hello Marsus, For the S7-200 system you have to use the Siwarex MS module (order number: 7MH4930-0AA01) for connecting the load cells. The Siwarex MS module has to be connected directly behind the CPU. All other modules have to be added behind this Siwarex MS module.See also the FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/52284484 Also I recommend to you to order the configuration package CD (order number: 7MH4930-0AK01). On that CD there is the commissioning software “Siwatool MS” to configure the Siwarex MS module. Best regards Siwarexi |

Hello Marsus, I don’t agree with mirip! With the solution from mirip you need an external weight indicator plus an EM231. The disadvantage of that solution is that you need two devices (the external weight indicator plus an EM231), and I guess that these two devices are also more expensive than to use only the Siwarex MS module. The advantage of the Siwarex MS module is that is also a weight indicator and the Siwarex MS module is already totally integrated in the S7-200 system. That means you need only one device to connect your load cells. Also you will receive a higher accuracy of the scale, because you don’t have to transform the load cell signal from an external weight indicator (with an analogue output) to an analogue signal for an EM231 module. You can find more information of the Siwarex MS module on the internet: https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/sensor-systems/en/weighing-systems/weighing-electronics/plc-based-weighing-modules/Pages/weighing-module-siwarex-ms.aspx?HTTPS=REDIR Best regards Siwarexi |

HellowSiwarexi, Siwarex MS is a good solution but not for me I think. As I need five weighing indicator. So, for this module I need to buy 5Siwarex MSmodule. Each will cost aroung [snip ...] . Its too much expenesive. On the other still I don't know the price for software and cable. So, I prefer solution ofmirip, As with five weighing indicator with analog output+EM231 it will not cost more than [snip ...]. However, you know better. As I am not expert. This is just my assumption.

Hello I agree with Marsusandmirip... no offence to Siwarex though. Siwarex is an excellent solution where accuracy is important. In applications where accuracy is not important, in-expensive load cell indicators with analog 4-20ma for PLC are generally sufficient. Unfortunately the Siwarex generally prices itself out of most applications ( Besides you need to buy special expensive indicators ). In mostcases, it is less expensive to have an external weighing module connected on profibus to S7-300 / 400 / 1200. The display units have built in indaction, Zeroing / Taring features which allow then to be used in Manual mode without PLC. Cheers Navnag |
