Dear Georgii, Please have a look at this link: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=6ES7317-2AJ10-0AB0&caller=view There is no problem. Best regards, Wizard |

[quote user="Wizard"]Dear Georgii, Please have a look at this link: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=6ES7317-2AJ10-0AB0&caller=view There is no problem. Best regards, Wizard Dear Wizard, I had already looked at this page, but the Vendor here said it was better to use a S7-400 instead this 317. We can see that the RAM capacity is 512Kbyte for program and data and the Address Area for Analog Inputs are 4096. But my worry is about the Scan time. With this number os AI I won't need to extend my Scan time for 1second or 2 seconds correct? It is just to monitor... Thanks for all. |

Nooooo! never!! Maybe 5 milliseconds. more precisely: Referring to the 317 operation list, reading an analog input L PIW will takes 20.71us. therefore 107 x 20.71 = 2216us = nearly 2.3 ms. If necessarily, you will need some time for scaling also. |

Dear Georgii, I don't think there will be a problem with scan cycle time. Just a little comment on your configuration. The IM 153-1part number in the table is old. The new part number is 6ES7153-1AA03-0XB0. However, this interface module is for Max. 8 S7-300 modules. You have 22 modules so you should go for one of 2 things, 1- Add another 6ES7153-1AA03-0XB0 so you will have 3 interface modules. 2- Replace 6ES7153-1AA03-0XB0 with 6ES7153-2BA02-0XB0 which can have 12 modules. Best regards. H-H |

Dear H-H, First, thanks for the tip of the Interface Module wich can have 12 modules, I didn't know... And in the project, I was thinking to use the Digitals Modules in the Main Rack, with the CPU, so that I would need only 2 IM153 with 8 modules. OrIsn't that possible? Thanks all |

Hello Georgii, You are right for sure. I'm sorry my thinking was limited. I though you wanted to use all modules with ProfibusIM since you didn't go for IM360 and IM361. Best regards. H-H |

Hi, georgii, As IBN said “may be 5 millisec”. In place of your 1 to 2sec. is absolutely correct. The cycle time represents the time that an operating system needs to execute a program, that is, one OB 1 cycle, including all program sections and system activities interrupting this cycle. The scan cycle time is the summation of the followings.
The time of scan cycle check point is 150 usec. I think your scan time should be such that you can easily handle the response time of the field. Regards ddg |

There will absolutely be no issue, I have a system with the same CPU, running with 109 Analog Input and 17 AO, running in field for more than a year. |
