Hello, you're right. I recently discovered that the ONLY way to enter symbolic var names is that they already exist in the list you're indicating, which must be imported first from a real/simulated CPU. If the symbols exists in that list (which as you say can saved in a bin file) you can type the complete name (DB + var symbol) or select it from list. A great brass medal for Siemens WinCC developers. Worst system is difficult to imagine. Evaluating alternatives I tried to move the WinCC 7.3 project to WinCC Professional 13 (ie TIA Portal, deadly slow and unstable as all of us know) but, surprise, it only migrates WinCC 7.2 projects, not 7.3.
