Locate inputs in 840D PLC with no symbols

CraigSimpson Posts: 159 Rating: (1)	Good day, Can anyone assist me? I needed to change the measuring system from system 2 to system 1 on an "A" axis (axis 9). The control has no CV manager so this change could not be done on the control. DB39.DBX1.5 could not be forced on the PLC screen so I hooked up the PG. I know all Siemens axis logic is done in DB39 (axis 9) but this can not be edited. I have no symbols table for this machine so I tried to do a cross reference. I searched for DB39.DBX1.5 and 1.6 but the searchwould not find them. By sheer chance I found them in FC109 and manged to swap the markers over to impliment the change. Why were they not picked up here by the filtered cross reference search? Any ideas? What I also found was that no matter what input I searched for in the Simatic Manager it displayed ALL inputs?? Some programmers use the splitted access for DB's. In this case it's quite tricky to find the origin of a signal in the PLC. You have to look for the "OPN DB-command" of the requested DB. CraigSimpson Posts: 159 Rating: (1)	Yeah, A1 is the ninth axis on a TBT gundrilling machine tool. A1 tilts the whole spindle, which includes W and REV axes. X, Y, Z, B, REV, C1, C2, W, A1

You see all because it is activated the All filter in this screen. Unmark the All and then mark the Db and write 39 where is a star. Then you will see the cross reference for DB39. CraigSimpson Posts: 159 Rating: (1)	Now I can see where to go; once new project is uploaded to station go to blocks and regenerate, then filter, then display! Thanks Nit. I think initially I may not have found what I wanted because I was using two versions of the same PLC and never regenerated cross references between switching PLC's. I also never deleted the wildcard * symbol before entering the 39 into the DB filter; I added it behind it!
