Log incoming and outcoming alarm events without displaying in the alarm view

jasonr Posts: 108 Rating: (2)	Hi, For certain messages being generated by the PLC using ALARM_D, I want to log both the incoming and outgoing events of the message, but I do not want the message to appear in the current alarm list. What is the best way to do this? The "Alarm without acknowledgement" model is no good, because the messages are displayed in the current alarm list. The "Alarm without outgoing without acnkowledgement" model is no good, because the outgoing event is not logged. Jason

jasonr Posts: 108 Rating: (2)	Hi Tweety, We did not have this requirement for any projects that were done in WinCC V7; this is a new feature that we want to implement. What I am actually intending to do is use the messaging system to keep track of how long certain devices have been running for and how many times they have been started. To do this, I intend to use ALARM_D to create messages from the PLC and then display the alarm statistics for these messages in WinCC. In particular, I will use the "Frequency" and "Sum +\-" blocks, which I will rename in the alarm view to "No. of starts" and "Total run time". I may be able to use a filter on the alarm view that is displaying the actual alarms of the system to achieve what I want, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Jason
