Hello tkm, please tell us which system you use. The maximum size of your archive is depending on the kind of your system. The amount of segments has nothing to do with the number of tags: The following logging methods are available: Manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109091876/68297336331 The logging method defines how and when which parts of the archive will be overwritten. The Default value is around 10. I don't think 5000 is a practical value in any case. You can calculate how often you can log all 1000 tags in an archive if you know how big your archive can be. (See first question or Look to "Historical Data > [YourDataLog] > Properties > Properties > General > Data records per log" (But this might not be the highest number possible.) ) Now if you multiply with your logging cycle of the logged tags you can calculate how much time it will take for the Archive to be full.
