LOGO! 24CE Digital input connect to open collector ?

Hi,

I have

turbine cold water meter with pulse transmitter

I would like to connect this sensor to LOGO (6ED1052-1CC01-0BA8)

for pulse counting,

water meter has Outputs (pulse) - Open collector type (OD) [0,17A, 100V]

My question:

How to connect Open collector outputs to LOGO Digital inputs?

Connect the + of the power to a resistor aproxamily 5KOhm - 10 kOhm. Connect the other site of the resistor to the digital input you want p.e I1. Connecty that digital input tot the Output of the pulssensor. Connect the - of the power also to the - of the pulssensor.

Notice that the inputsignal is inverterd.

 You have understand correctly and if you have the same ground (M) for both parts, then it is not necessary to use a photo coupler. If you have problems with the voltage level at the logo input, then you can reduce the resistor value down to 2,2kOhm.

You must also have a resistor for I2 if you use I2 as on the drawing.

I do not like the decision to use resistors (looks bad) ,

That's your money to buy photo couplers with integrated resistors instead of resistors. You also can buy ready resistor terminals or resistor arrays for DIN rails also by Phoenix, but this is your decision.

If you use the photo coupler as on your wiring diagram, then it will not work. Terminal 13(+) must go to 24V and terminal 14 to the input.
