matcap Member Joined: 1/16/2019 Last visit: 5/24/2021 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I downloaded the Logo! 8.3 Software Upgrade for OS X. I'm running Big Sur OS X. When I unzip the content, I get a Setup.app file. When I double click it I get a message I don't have the necessary privileges to open/execute it. Please note I'm logged as the Administrator and LogoComfort 8.2 as well as lwe are installed and running perfectly. Any suggestion? Soft Upgrade makes troubbles if it is done with a Mac. Workaround: Download the Upgrade with a Windows PC, then copy the Upgrade to Mac and go on with the installation on your Mac.. According the supported Mac and Linuc Version: This I remember is a problem of the used installer in LSC. In LSC there is one installer for all operating systems used. This installer supports Win, Mac and Linux OS and is always a little bit behind the "real" OS version for Mac and Linux. This was reported here in the LOGO! Forum any time Mac or Linux has published a new OS version. Hope this helps.

I am also a mac user myself. i am having the same problem. I have a question for you: did you download the installation file for a mac or for windows on the windows pc? On my 2011 macbook pro mac os 10.13 I ran LSC 8.2.1 with no problem. A few weeks ago I installed LSC 8.3 that also worked without a problem. Unfortunately my macbook broke down last week. I have meanwhile bought a new macbook that will be delivered with mac os big sur. currently i'm working on an imac 2011 osx 10.13 where i can't upgrade from my dvd installed lsc 8.1 to lsc 8.2.1. The installation program keeps saying it cannot find the correct files from the original installation (LSC 8.1) even though I specify the correct folder where the files are located. I can continue with the installation but afterwards do not want to open the newly installed version. since there are probably more LSC users with a mac encounter the same problem. Hence, this method can be a solution for many people.

Then extract and copy the file to a MAC and install. The reason as I remember is, that the file if you download with a mac and try to install it doesn't work. Why I don't know. Maybe an MAC expert can explain.
