Logo! 8 library

Dears,

I am working in a project for small and medium building solar tracking system.

 I looked at the logo functions non of them is solar block 

does SIEMENS have a function block for Logo! 8 similar to S7-1200 solar tracker "SPA_calc_sunvector "

or did anyone did it before?

@Hashim. as by IXO65 no that function does not exist whit in the LOGO! serie.

Personal i do not think it makes economic sens unless you are far to the north. This because the price of panels is very low and the mechanical setup is sensitive for maintenance and failure.

Close to my home (Greece) one person setup a big system with 6 two axe systems , that time the price was high for panel and he wanted to burn his money after 12 years all of them are damaged and not working.

I have my house off grid and use a fixed solar setup that only in the seasons i manual change the angle.

Incase you want to use  LOGO it is possible by use of LDR (light sensitive resistor) on the inputs and using the relays to start stop DC motors.

And then use the astronomical clock function to return the panels back in start position.

Just see the attachement, it does not need to be difficult.

Keep in mind this is not a final setup just a idea.

For the LDR's sensors they need to be installed on the panel looking at 90 degree from the panel witha small shade between LDR 1&2 also for LDR 3&4 also the setup LDR 1&2 are setup that they cover there movement.At a tresshold of 11 the motor will start to ballance back in ballance.

At sun down (based on setup from the block) the setup will move back to start position.

All positions are protected by limit switches.

Extra you can include a storm position to move the panel horizontal .......

I think you are right, the Return of investment is low especially in my area The Arabian gulf.

that why I am thinking of logo and single axis movement to cut the cost and increase production

We have huge projects here for PV yield.
