LOGO cable RS232 to USB connector port

I will ask something about the logo cable . i have logo pc cable 6ED1-057-1AA00-0BA0 the connector port is RS232 and i dont have this port in my loptop computer.it is posible to use a commercial converter RS232 to USB port thanks and best regards to all of you.

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	Hey NAFT & UMENCHO! Always good to refer back to previous posts! I just wanted to add something extra about these types of adaptors and also about the USB drivers for the USB cable for LOGO! In my experience, LOGO! Soft Comfort (LSC) only likes to work with COM port numbers which are quite low (COM 3, COM 4, ...COM 7). If the COM port number automatically assigned to the USB/COM adaptor or the LOGO! USB cable is higher, then LSC seems to have more problems connecting to it, even if you can 'see' this interface option in LSC. The advice I have given most people is to do the following. 1) Under CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM -> HARDWARE -> DEVICE DAMAGER, look for 'Ports' 2) If the automatically assigned COM port number is too high (usually because of other USB/COM devices or Blue Tooth drivers) 3) Try to change the properties of the USB Cable or USB/COM adaptor, to a lower number - if there is one available. 4) You might have to turn your PC off, then boot up and go into the BIOS to DISABLE somethign like an on-board analog modem (usually used COM 3) to make a low number COM port available. OR 5) You might have to remove all Blue Tooth devices that use up quite a few COM port numbers. (You might also have to turn off the blue tooth function int he BIOS like the modem above in step (4)) 6) Then try and change the COM port number properties of the USB Cable or USB/COM adaptor. 7) If this works, and you get a low COM port number, then you could try turing on the blue tooth devices again and they will get the higher OCM port numbers. (This will not work for the modem if you have used COM 3 though !?!?!?) 8) in the worst case, you will have to unplug the LOGO! USB Cable or USB/COM adaptor, remove the driver entirely, reboot, and then try the steps above. Hope this helps somebody! Cheers

	Antworten wären einfacher, wenn bei Anfragen die Logo! Version (0BAx, R?...) und die Spannung (12/24, 24, 230) angegeben würde Über den Beiträgen gibt es hier Bewerten und Bedanken Buttons die meiner Meinung nach viel zu selten benutzt werden wenn man sich mal anschaut was manch einer hier an Zeit investiert.

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	Hey Paulvdb! Yup, USB is supposed to remove the hassle out of thinking about COM port numbers! BUT In the background, good 'ol Windows automatically assigns a 'virtual' COM port number to each USB device (either the LOGO! USB cable, or any kind of adapter). This is what the USB driver software does and why pretty much every USB device has to have such a driver (some of them are in the firmware of the device and install themselves when you plug them in - like a memory-stick). So when Windows automatically assigns the next available virtual COM port number to the USB <> COM adaptor, if there are already many such devices installed (like a Blue Tooth driver), the virtual COM port number that will be assigned will be quite high. I do not know why, but I do know that this causes troubles with communication to the LOGO!, even if this COM port number can be 'seen' by the Interface Selection option in LOGO! Soft Comfort. Cheers!
