logo display connector

I wanted to mount the LOGO! in a cabinet so that the display can be seen for error messages etc. it is difficult to do this as the buttons and eeprom are proud of the display. So i looked inside the LOGO! and the display is connected to the board with an FFC ribbon cable. If i used a FCC cable extender i could be able to mount the display where i like. At first glance the connector appears to be 20 pin with 1mm pitch but i will check in more detail later. I was just wondering if has already been attempted by someone. Any thoughts? Gareth

Gareth_M Posts: 9 Rating: (6)	Well i could do that Mausus, but the reason that I use the LOGO! is that i am an electronics engineer who hasnt learned how to program yet. I find the LOGO comfortsoft function block method easy and intuitive. I really wouldnt know how to begin with a S7 . If i get time I will teach myself how to do it but Im no software expert so i am a little daunted by it if i am honest. Gareth

Am i right in thinking that I need the following. S7-221 TD200 Micro/Win Cable ....also i was told that the software for the HMI is not needed as its part of micro/win? anybody shed some light on that? God help me. Gareth

Ajay Regular Member Joined: 10/26/2005 Last visit: 10/23/2024 Posts: 2 Rating: (2)	Gareth, The TD200 configuration is contained within the S7 22x PLC. So you will not need another software package. MicroWin is sufficient. There are different versions of the TD200 you will need to make sure that the TD200 you opt for is supported by your MicroWin version. The latest version of MicroWin is v4.0+SP2. If you opt for the TD100 option then you can only configure this from MicroWin v4.0+SP2. If only a simple text display is required you may find the TD100 sufficient. Its main restriction is that it does not have a backlight for the display. Regards Ajay
