Loop powered 2 wire analog on 331-7KF02 module?

Silver Member Joined: 8/10/2006 Last visit: 8/13/2024 Posts: 298 Rating: (29)	Greetings, does anyone have experience wiring a loop powered two wire sensor (see attached JPG) into an analog channel on a 331-7KF02 (or a 331-1KF02 also!) ?? I have tried it according to the manual with 2DMU configuration and it does not provide enough power to activate the electronics on the instrument. I am not seeing another way to do it, unless using it as a voltage input and putting a 250Ώ or 500Ώ resistor across the terminals will work ? I am in the process of converting all our ancient PLC systems over to the S7-300 platform and have 100's of two wire sensors around the factory to connect. You better use the 24VDC which is feeding the Analog Card. Take a look at Figure 4-13 in the attached file.
