Hello, I have an IOT 2050 Advanced with Example Image 1.2.2. I bought the 4G/LTE modem Sierra Air Prime MC7455 Mini-PCIe as recommended on Github. While setting it up I got the following error:
I found this issue on Github with this problem. Is that the only way to fix this or is there an easier way with a new Example Image? I neither have a USB-mPCIE adaptor nor want to tape the USB3.0 signals, because I don't want to damage the IOT or the modem. I hope there is an easy way to connect the modem. Thanks in advance |

Hi, are you using IOT2050 Basic or Advanced? And which FS does your device have? Best regards! |

Hi, I received a new list from development, but this is only valid for the PG2 devices (Basic FS:01; Advanced FS:04). The cards haven't beed tested on the PG1 devices or are known to be incompatible. I searched in the forum and a user reported the Huawei MU609 to work. I quickly checked on google and the card is available (e.g. here). Best regards! |

Hi, if I understand correctly, this modem only supports UMTS / 3G. I think this isn't available anymore in Germany. I found this one. On Github, the "HUAWEI 909s-120p v2" is recommended but I think the one I found is not V2 but V1. Like this one. Best regards |

Hi, sorry, I didn't think of the 3G topic in Germany. I can't promise that the V1 card works as well. What I can say is that the chipset is the same for V1 and V2 according to techship.com. So the chance is high that both cards work. Both cards are end-of-life and the SIMCom SIM7600G-H is suggested as replacement. I will try to get an answer from R&D whether they can confirm that this card works. This is a real hard topic, as the cards are end-of-life pretty fast and there thousands of cards with different drivers out there. Best regards! |

Hi, do you mean this one? Why aren't the newer modems supported by my IOT2050? Easiest would be just to buy the newest modems on the market, install the drivers and use them. This is way too complicated and takes too much time. Is it, that the data interface has to be USB 2.0 and shouldn't support both 2.0 and 3.0? Best regards |

Hi, you linked the E-H, I was talking about the G-H. At least the E-H is mentioned in the github wiki, I hope we don't have the a similar situation as with your Sierra card. Regarding the Huawei ME909s-120p I found an issue, seems it is required to use AT commands to activate the module.Don't know how/whether this has been solved by the user. One problem is the USB3.0 interface. The IOT2050's mPCIe interface does only support USB2.0, cards with USB3.0 do not work. When the card is compatible from a hardware point-of-view there is the software thing. We enabled lots of drivers in the kernel. When the card does not appear, most probably either the drivers and/or the kernel flags are missing. Best regards! |
