MAG8000 changing battery to 24V DC Powered card

DavinderSingh Posts: 93 Rating: (2)	Dear Sir, We supplied MAG8000 with battery pack to our customer around 2 months back. Earlier in this project there was no power supply so they ordered MAG8000 but now they have 24V DC power source available on site. They want to know whether it is possible to use same transmitter by changing PCB/kit to 24V DC? I know there is a kit FDK-087L4210 is available as spare but not sure it can replace the battery version. Advise me if somebody has done this in past. Regards, Davinder Singh

Chook Experienced Member Joined: 6/13/2006 Last visit: 9/21/2023 Posts: 201 Rating: (8)	Hi, - The internal battery pack, one set of 2 D-cell : FDK-087L4150 Battery life time is a sum off different operations conditions (chapter 5.4.2 in operating manual) When using Add module the life time changed dramatically. By mounting a module the life time will be reduces 50 % and depending on how often communication is active it will reduce more. Using RS 232 “Constant On” reduces with 90% Therefore we strongly recommend to use Main supply together with add module You don't need to change the PCB, only need to install the follow items: - Main power supply 24Vdc (FDK-087L4210) - Battery backup for mains power supply ( A5E03354392 ) Note: The battery A5E02679923 of FUS080 also works for this matter. The size of power supply is exactly the same with battery's holder for 2 D-cell. So it's very easy to replace this part into the transmitter. The plug( yellow & blue) will connect to the PCB The orange cable (brow & blue ) will connect to your main supply 24Vdc The green wire will connect to the ground.
