Make pop-up screen with WinCC Professional

Hi,

First of all: TIA portal v13 SP1 WinCC Professional v13 SP1.

I have an old project made with wincc advanced in which I had pop-up screens. I had to adecuate this project to wincc professional.

My question is : How can I make popup screens with wincc professional?

Hello jimenez,

you can't really migrate them.

You could use "Screen windows" (see controls) for a similar effect. 

Positive Effect: They can be configured as movable.

  You can use "picture windows"  as  Pop - up  .

You can try visibility property with some rectangles and test ( just create a pop up.with rectangle). By SE action u can give visible action.to it.

I think by creating a simple Faceplate of pop-up  and then calling it in Picture window is more  helpful as it can be use multiple time with single face plate. ( if its a warning or Alarm kind of application ).

I really don't understand, why siemens engineers think, that this useful options like popup windows must be only at simple project with wincc advanced. And what if i want use client\server hmi with archiving and i also want to use popups on this hmi? NOTHING for solve this problem!

There is no problem to buy more expencive version, but why do you cut such useful options like in wincc advanced. User must to choose, what options he want in installation of more expencive version. It seems like you give to user a choice: to buy power, strong and ugly car with 3 wheels or buy beautiful but not strong car. So if you want strong beautiful car, sorry. Pay more, but paint and customize your car by yourself...

It's a stupid way to developing software. Every famous developer make extended version of software with options of more cheap version+ new extended options. But you cut options of more cheap version and add new features...

Well, it's more like you have a motorbike (WinCC Flex) and a car (WinCC).

They share some functionalities and both transport you from A to B on road, but you can't put the tires of a bike on a car.

When TIA was created they had to merge a car with a bike .Both are now painted in the same colour, but of course that merging does only work for some functionalities. (But you can use the same garage instead of two and have your tools in the same space, so it's easier to work).

So now the engineers designed some shiny new tires for the bike, but the car still has the old ones.

Both work, but the problem is how to make the new bike tires work for the car. The underlying structure and the workload is different. Also, does the car need new tires? The old ones are fine, they just work differently.
