Making a new registration using an old email

After some time I left my old job, so I changed my user name (it was my email address), password and my email address to a new one. Now an old colleague wants to register (He has my old email address) he tried to make a new registration, but I got a change password confirmation email in my new email address[:o]! What should we do? Can’t he make a new user using my old email address? How can I get rid of my old email address? Thanks in advance Best regards, Mehrnoosh
