Making a time stamp

ovid Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hello. Could someone help me please, I want to create time stamps in different screens? I am using a TP177 panel and a S7-200(CPU 226) system. I am trying to record the time and date when the operator hits a certain button. In the WinCC micro program, I have tried adding a time/date field and linkingit to a tag which I write in the PLC. Nevertheless, when I try to select the data type and I go let's say String Character, it will not let me, I get an error - invalid data type. In the PLC I found a function - read RTC that is supposed to get the time/date and write them in a 8-byte area whiches start I specify. The program runs by there and at the input pin T, I can see 144 - what is that, by the way? Is it the contens of the first byte? The time is supposed to be written on 8 bytes. Any inpus is greatly appreciated.

Nevertheless I did find somehow the way it worked - it was because Ihad not set the date on the PLC and the Read Time function displays the first byte only at the input when you whatch it on your PC in monitoring mode. I displayed them all in HEX on a test page and all was clear. So I do have all 8 bytes as the function describes them. I do have an extra question, though. Is there a function already done someplace that can help me dispaly that time stamp on the screen a mode pleasant way? I mean I cannot display in WinCC a time date tag from the PLC, that tipe of tag only allows HMI tags. I should need to make text fields and pick the individual bytes as to arrange them in a nice to look at fashion. Maybe there is aleady a pre-made function someplace? And also, if I want the operator to enter the expiration date for a product, I also cannot use time/date fields, I need to make the individual fields with their names one by one. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

But this are not possible with WinCC flexible mirco! Under this Link there are a sample project which are included a FDA practice.
