Making backup copy of winCC data

There are three folders in it: AlarmLogging, TagLoggingFast and TagLoggingSlow. That is where archive data is stored. Now I want to free disk space, make backup of data and store it on the safe place. I couldn't just copy data because other prcess is using them. I'm planning to stop WinCC Runtime, select ArchiveManager folder, archive it (by winzip) and copy to external memory drive. Then I would delete contents of these three folders. Is this procedure OK? Can I make something wrong with it? Is it OK just to delete all data in each folder? Thanks

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (278)	Hi, Yes, the ldf and mdf files can be safely deleted (but do not delete the folders). The files will get recreated when you restart RT. Regards

If you want to delete the archive files I recommend to use the reset function. (Open Alarm Logging, Archive Configuration, Message Archive Popup menu). The same function is for Tag Logging

Nithin Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	if we cut and took archives as in a DVD, Can we repaste it in the respective folders for future monitoring. Especially when the project is the same but activated recently on a new PC. This would be helpful in taking Project Backups
