Hello impala; Here are various sources of information available on Siemens' websites concerning the IDB. You must take 9into account that it is considered an option to WinCC, and as such the documentation is probably found in the WinCC Options manuals. WinCC portal: option Industrial Data Bridge Notice the 2 links at the bottom of the webpage, the Online Catalog has good general info. https://mall.automation.siemens.com/WW/guest/index.asp?aktprim=0&nodeID=10016157&lang=en 2 FAQs on WinCC IDB: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24499956 One chapter on IDB (as part of the “Options” section) in the WinCC V. 7.0 System Description manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/32107026 Here is what it says about configuring the links in Configuration and Runtime modes: You create and edit data connections in the Configuration Wizard:1. Link data source and data destination and configure connection parameters. 2. Define the transfer behavior of the connection group. 3. Connect source data to destination data.If the source data and destination data are not of the same data type or if they cannot be converted, a warning is displayed on the status bar. In the runtime environment: 1. Load the configuration you created. 2. Establish a connection between the linked Consumer and Provider runtime components. 3. Start the data transmission. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi impala, The3.51 seriesis available for download from web. I am not an IDB user, but my guess is that 5.1 series will also work. But then again, since it is not officially tested by Siemens, may be we should just use the 3.51 drivers. regards.
