Mapping Modbus to OPCUA Server

AutoGen_8774959 Member Joined: 8/15/2018 Last visit: 9/9/2021 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I have managed to connect, download packages and read from a Modbus TCP sensor with the output provided by the debug of the onboard Node Red (interface). I require some help in mapping the Modbus data items retrieved to OPCUA DataItems. I have installed the OPCUA package and defined my server, however, how do I map the Modbus data (potentially in array form) to the OPCUA 'DataItem'? The aim is to have the OPCUA physical interface being the second Eth port of the IoT2050 box. For now, I'll use the same Eth as i will use my laptop with an OPCUA Client in a local setup. Any past examples would be appreciated as I see a lot of OPCUA 'CLIENT' Node Red examples on the internet, but none for this Gateway requirement. Your thoughts guys...

bergmanu Platinum Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 8/4/2022 Posts: 2894 Rating: (351)	Hi, you can go to the node-red menu -> Import -> Examples. There is one example for an OPC UA server. How is your modbus data looking like? You said it's an array. Can you maybe post an example (e.g screenshot of the debug node)? There are mostly several options to retrieve arrays and provide the single items to other nodes. Best regards!

Please find attached some snapshots where the abstract view of inputs and outputs, debug window etc. are shown. My intenion is to use the next flow tab for mapping across (perhaps from the msg.payload value in the Modbus TCP tab) to OPC UA... Your thoughts? ..Cheers. You can copy the content of the .json file and paste it into import -> cliboard in node-red. We don't have any more specific examples here in the forum. I hope this example above can lead you into the right direction.. Best regards!
