MAS 21: Errors in GPRS communication

But the problem with disconnecting from the OPC server remains the same. I've saved the log file from commView and OPC server, together with the logfile from the modem. The modem with the new firmware is "modem4" (in the log) with the IP address 87.252.155.105. Could you, please, take a look at these files and try to make some suggestions how I'm going to resolve this difficult problem? Thanks, once again in advance Beep Attachment logs.zip (62 Downloads)

I think i will give a reply tomorrow (04.03) I quote: The meaning of message "ERROR: CTSCPClient::Read(); ("modem1") Reading on socket failed is that the provider cannot handle the huge traffic. It is rush hour at the net. If you have further questions don't hesitate to contact me again. Yes this is ONE of the possible problems. But as i already tried to explain. This f** logging message can be everything always when i see such a failure description in the m2mlog i am very afraid . Those f*** "Read on socket failed" can be caused by everything. I will Pick out 2 "Reading on socket failed!".: ################################################################################ (1) 29.02.2008 14:45:48.500 ERROR: CTSCPClient::Read(): ("modem5") Reading on socket failed! Closing session. WSAECONNRESET ################################################################################ (3) 29.02.2008 14:47:03.593 ERROR: CTSCPClient::Read(): ("modem1") Reading on socket failed! Closing session. WSAECONNRESET (2) 29.02.2008 14:47:10.015 ERROR: CTSCPClient::Read(): ("modem2") Reading on socket failed! Closing session. WSAECONNRESET ################################################################################ Ok what do i see there: Let´s say modem5 (1) is iip: 87.252.144.160; (2) modem2 --> 87.252.134.8; (3) modem1 --> 87.252.135.213 (1) Last response (10 sec. before error in SINAUT) on 14:45:38,051640. Notice on next line the port is changed. I am wondering about following: I agree with our idea thats something wrong on providers side, but why is the client responding but not the server? (2) Last respone (32 sec. before error in SINAUT) on 14:46:38,019320. Notice the modem is trying to send once again on the same port but after words the port is changed too. The difference here: This time the Server was responding but no answer comes from client in time. So this would cover our idea. But is longer than 32 seconds really out of time? (3) Last response (2 sec. before error in SINAUT) on 14:47:01,026711. NOtice on next line the port is changed. Here you see from the line before the Last response the Servers send out a Request. And there is a response. But this response is maybe wrong?? sumary: I cant make a conclusion the way of request/response is not clear. But i think we can not have a look only to that whats coming in and whats going out. I think the failure is in the content of the TCP/IP pakets. i will send this logfiles to a specialist. maybe he can tell us more. do you have the possibilty anyway to read out the modems logfile??? regards lif

I can agree with you that is very strange that we have three different responses for the same error. Did you take a look at my post on 03.03? I've uploaded the log files from the OPC, commView and from one modem where I first downloaded the new firmware 1.7.7. Maybe this can give us some answers? Kind regards, Beep

Sometimes your error occurs by a Timoute (the RS send nothing), sometimes your error occurs by a faulty package. I don´t know what there is wrong in the package but SINAUT thinks it´s not the requested one. So this means. In both cases there MUST be a failure in the providers network. (mobile or maybe landline) - Use other SIM cards, from other provider (Check before implementing into device, that the new provider uses not the infrastructure of the old provider!!!! In Germany or Austria they sometimes do that. - Request your provider for any GPRS failures in their network - Use the very it-infrastructure minimum at your office side (connect SINAUT Server directly to DSL/Router) - Use if possible a different DSL Provider (Maybe at home or via a UMTS card (Think there about the dynamic IP-address)) - Play on SINAUT Micro SC with the status monitoring (increas the cycle > 1 minute) uel123 Thank you for the very detailed logfiles. Regarding the "Socket closed failure" please read my comment above. For the other failure i will have a closer look later. Hereby, I am sending you some additional data for my application: - I live in Slovenia and my application runs also in Slovenia. - Our DSL provider is Telekom Slovenia - Our Internet provider is Siol Slovenia (= doughter company of Telekom Slovenia) - Our GSM/GPRS provider is Mobitel Slovenia (also a doughter company of Telekom Slovenia). - Our Local LAN Structure: - DSL Modem type: GANYMED 822+ (Iskratel, SLOVENIA) - We have a fixed IP address for our internet access - Router: type LEVEL ONE (???) - Application, that runs on router: "User defined virtual server, TCP protocol, Internal port No: 26862, External port No: 26862; internal IP address: 192.168.2.5 (= address of PC, where Sinaut runs)" Firewall: no special settings on router; on computer, where SINAUT runs: WinXP Pro, sp2, Apllication "SINAUT MICRO SC SERVER" is allowed in "exceptions" in firewall settings on computer, wheresinaut runs. We have 8 computers, and 1 printer in our LAN (hard-wired); computer, where SINAUT runs, is also hard wired;) we also have a wireless LAN for our Laptops (5 pieces). Settings on Sinaut: - At the moment, we have 4 GPRS stations active. - on 2 of them, we have "Status monitoring by real clock sinchronisation, every 15 minutes" - on 2 of them, we have "Status monitoring by value update, every 5 minutes". I have decided, to try out other providers for GSM/GPRS and Internet. I will do it in steps (from easy steps to difficult steps). At first, I will change a GSM/GPRS provider. I will try with SiMobil, which is a doughter company of VodaFone (Germany). If there will be no difference, I will also try with other Internet provider (which will not be so easy....). Hi Mike(tm)! Difference in infrastructure in SLO/CRO: I wouldn¨t know about differences in infrastructure between SLO/CRO and other EU countries... It is possible, that in uor contries this infrastructure is not so good, as in other EU countries. Doyou have anyreports abot useof this system (MD720GPRS + SINAUT Micro)from other countries also? If this problem arose only in SLO and CRO, then me and Beep should really be ashamed of bad infrastructure development in our countries..... Sincerely yours! uel123

Of course the TCP/IP Network in the end is the same in the whole world. But maybe more mobile provider share those equipment with each other. In Germany or Austria they do that. I know that the same problem appears in austria with many stations in different plants with different servers. ..... So... changing sim cards from different providers gains success? bye Lif
