Math operations with HSC returns zero

Hello

I have an 1214 PLC with encoder connected by HSC inputs configured as AB counter.

I'm trying to run the code 

#Position_Encoder := (#HSC1/(INT_TO_REAL(#Encoder_PPR)/#Axis.Mechanics.LeadScrew))

The data types are:

#HSC1 - Real (the high speed counter value, configured in hardware settings (%ID1000 by default))

#Position_Encoder - Real

#Encoder_PPR - Int

#Axis.Mechanics.LeadScrew - Real

Problem is that this code returns the value 0 on #Position_Encoder if the #HSC1 positive. And returns correct value if the #HSC1 negative. What am I doing wrong? And how can I make it work with positive #HSC1 values?

I also tried to remove #Encoder_PPR and #Axis.Mechanics.LeadScrew variables and set 1000.0 and 10.0 values. Result is the same. Not working...

HSC1 as REAL data type? This I expect as some missunderstanding from your side and therefore you have that problems probably.

Try to see video sample there is a lot of good information. like HERE

Also check your discrete input filter maybe there is the problem if you set too low it can do strange things :)

 I bet it is. But when I type %ID1000 it says that the data type is REAL. (I changed the name of the tag)

PS Thank you. The problem seems to be solved. It really was all about the wrong tag data type.
