My question is not about the overall maximum S7-connections (16 for S7-315-2PN/DP), but it is about if there's a maximum number of S7-connections for "one way connection" (put/get, connection resource 03) on a S7-315-2PN/DP?

S7-connection is S7-connection. It doesn´t matter if it is a one-sided- or a two-sided-connection is.

Would it help if you were told that connections for PUT/GET communication functions were listed as "S7 communications"?

Basically, you cn reserve up to 14 connections for all your S7 Communications (including one-sided connections for PUT/GET); the rest of the 32 connections available for your CPU are distributed between PG connctions (1 reserved by default), OP connections (1 reserved by default) and S7 Basic Communication connections.

 I've also read a lot of documentation  and think that it normally might not be a problem, but the fact is that I still have 3 "Not used" connections available and that one of the configured "one way connection" on this PLC doesn't become active... (altough the other PLC is active and connection to it is possible!)

Also when I try to set-up a new "one way connection" (connection resource 03) from a test PLC to this PLC, the connection also doesn't become active...

Therefore I thought that maybe there was a limit on "one way connections" (connection resource 03) and that the remaining s7-connections needed to be "two way connections" (connection resource 10 or higher), but I can't find anything about it in the documentation... (I' ve not been able yet to test out if a two way connection still can be created and activated since the PLC cannot be stopped for the moment...)

have try to deactivate one of the other connections and then try it again.
