Maximum time span of trends for KTP700 Basic HMI

to your Questions:

1)

look in your trend view-> properties-> Trend-> look at your trend

click on source Settings-> here you have your Process tag and a "cyclic"

here you have to set your timespan divided through 999

-> so when you want to see 24h -> you have to set 87 seconds

so every 87 seconds one Value is added to your trend and you can show 24 h

2)

yes you can do also archiving but in a trend view you can also only show 999 Datapoints.

So you have to archive also the 87 seconds for one cycle or you sho a smaller timespan

3)

You can set at historical data a Data log and set the Properties of your Process tag to the Log.

But be careful the performance limit for this panel is for one log only 10000 entries.

This little Panels cannot handle with huge Data amounts

Hi Guys,

For me the same challenge. I've to log the data from ±10 tags. The time span will not be 90 days like Om@ir, but must be longer than a weekend. So the customer can monitor the process on a monday from the weekend.

The setup will be the same. A 1215 CPU with a KTP700 2nd generation basic panel.

Now I still have some questions about the 10000 entries from the basic panel. Is this a limitation that excists by the firmware off the panel, or is it a memory issue that can be solved with a USB-stick inserted in the panel?

The second and last question: The 10000 entries is the total per each tag, or for all the tags that will be logged?

The 10000 Entries are a suggested Limit from SIemens System Testing that you should not go beyond.

Its a limitation of CPU Power of the Panel! not of the Memory. the USB Stick could do much much much more.

The Limitation is for one Log in Historical Data Editor its for all Values that are Stored in that one Log.

You can do 2 Logs in a Basic Panel 2nd Generatoin. so for every Log maximum 10000 Entries.

SO it depends on the amount of Tags which you store in one Log and how fast is your logging cycle of the Tags. If you have more Values with fast cycle you can store less time than otherways.
