Maxum ll SNE reset and warm starting

MichalB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Anybody have experience with their analyzer reseting and performing a warm start for no apparent reason. It happens to us 3-4 times a year. It has been an issue lately because we are now using the GC for plant control. Also our alarm log travels into the future 7 years but the unit time and date are current. Thanks for any help. Dong Huilai Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	We encountered the same problem last year. Siemens told us the software should be updated and then the problem could be eliminated. The upgrading includes Flash, data, and system manager, etc. You may contact with the product support person for more information. In our plant, we have not upgraded the software. We will try to upgrade it next year. It is not free of charge to upgrade!

MichalB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks, I just ordered new flash, and a shield for the MMI cable. Tech support also suggested turning sys_log on. Hopefully this will shed more light if event happens again. Thanks again.

MichalB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Yes, I replaced the compact flash, and installed the MMI shield. It cost a couple of hundred bucks and took about 15 minutes. We have not seen a re-occurance. But the problem only occured periodically throughout the year, so I cannot sat that this was the fix. I did not upgrade any firmware or software at this time. Went with the cheap and easy first.
