measuring system change

saibeml Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I have one machine with 840d andlinear scale is used as feedback device. Recently we are facing problem with axis vibrations. I need to switchover from scale feedback to motor encoder feedback to confirm where is the problem. can anyone guide me what i need to change to changeover from external feed back to motor feedback Regards

Pee Ell Sea Posts: 672 Rating: (56)	Hi, Depends which axis you want to change but it has to be done in the plc Axis Db's start at DB31 for axis 1 db32 for axis 2 etc Then you need to change dbx1.5 and dbx1.6 Change dbx1.6 to a zero (select 2nd measuring system) Change dbx1.5 to a one (select 1st measuring system) If the plc program has been written with a bit of thought you will be able to change this in PLC Status on the 840D. If the bits are set every scan in the plc then you will have to change the plc program.

If your scales are absolute or incremental with coded distances it means that you don't have cams for reference and maybe the PLC is not prepared for the reference with cams, so you'll not be able to make the reference point.
