Hello Everybody, I need your support regarding an ethernet ring, if it will work or not. The ring will be built using twisted pair cables between these elements : 1. SCALANCE X-414 3E . Note that from this manual at 3.2.5 it was mentioned that this module supports "MRP" 2. CP 443-1 . Note that from this manual at 1.3 it was mentioned that this module supports "MRP" See the attached pic. for a simple illustration. My doubts because I have not seen a ring between just two devices, and which one will play the "Redundancy Manager" role, and how to make the configuration to disable the redundancy manger in CP 443-1. Please if there are other limitations and notes on this pleas tell me. I will be grateful for any comment or suggestion BR AttachmentEthernet Ring.Zip (743 Downloads) |

This was an .rar-file originally. So you have to rename it as .rar and than open it. I just did it an attached it best regards bilao AttachmentEthernet Ring.zip (321 Downloads) |

Hello, as I see right now it is a point to point redundancy. So this certainly works, if you care about the points I already mentioned earlier. Best regards J_Bell P.S.: for more information you may check the following documents: S7-CPs for Industrial Ethernet Configuring and Commissioning Release 05/2008 C79000−G8976−C182−09 Manual Part A − General Application Chapter 3.6.3 MRP SIMATIC NET Industrial Ethernet Switches SCALANCE X-300 SCALANCE X-400 Configuration Manual Chapter 4.3.1 X-400 Status, Chapter 6.3 MRP configuration in PROFINET IO I guess this will certainly help. |

Hi, Here I would suggest to look into HSR. HSR can be combined with Standby. The only thing is that HSR is only supported by network components (switches, media converters) and not by end devices. Below you find a link about Redundancy in industrial networks: Demonstration System "Redundancy Mechanisms" in industrial networks with SCALANCE X |
