Memory area F FC00 for the 948U

bugsbuster Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I am trying to convert a 948 Program to an S7 400 and in the S5 program there are lots of instructions addressing the area FFC00 for the IM 308C (window addressing) I tried to look in the IM 308C for a description of this area details of the mapping of this area but could not find anything about it. I also looked in the 948 programming guide manual could not find anything either all what it says it is used for the IM 308 304 etc but no details. I would like to know in which manual could one find more details about this area as my IM 308C is talking to many drives over this area but could not find how did they establish the conclusion for each detail of this area. The(F)FC00 DP window address is dedicatedfor usage with this FB. Shouldthis FB"IM308C" NOT be used in your S5 program, it means that soemone with some good insider knowledge decided to program the data exchange between the CPU and the IM308C the "hardcoded way" (perhaps for no other reason than that they could). Just in case you don't havethis manual yet, chapter 6 of theET 200 Distributed I/O System with IM 308-C manual at least lists the available address ranges. I hope this helps at least somewhat

bugsbuster Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Unfortunately FB IM 308C is not used they have used some custom made blocks using MBR and TY GB instructions to address some master drives but I was able to understand those ones and replaced many of those with the SFC15 and 14 in S7. However there are other blocks that read diagnostic data from the drives over the same FFC00 range going all the way to FFDFF but it is not clear what data they are moving in this block as the comments are not too detailed and no manual showed the details of this area even the manual you referred to in your message I have looked at it before. They show in the comments some Master diagnostic and slave diagnostic using also MBR and GY instructions but a different area than the PZD that was used for the drives. I will try to put some snap shots of this code in next week as I do not have the program before next Tuesday. Regards

This is an example of the blocks using this frame addressing

If we take one of the lines L KB 255 TY GB248 that seems to put 255 in address F FCF8 ok what is address F FCF8 supposed to be?
