If So,this would be necessitate the use of a memory card. Do you wish to be able to change the user Program in RUN Mode, and is the program too big for the internal RAM? If So, this would be necessitate the use of RAM memory card.When using a RAM memory card,the system must be battery operated so as to backup the RAM memory card data and the data in the internal RAM if there is a power failure.

Hi Amit, Thank you. Can you give more detail about this. As for I know the Flash card (Falsh EPROM), in S7 400 CPU's are like the MMC in S7 300 and we can use the 400 CPU's having falsh card without battery.(Note:The program should be downloaded to the card) If we have CPU with RAM card, the battery should be available in the CPU otherwise the program will be erased during power startup. But I don't know,what was the use of the RAM. Is the RAM is acting as the External Workmemory for the CPU.That means how is the load memory calculation. Sorry If I am wrong. Please give more detail about the RAM & Flash card in S7 400 and in what situation we have go for RAM or Flash.

Hi, I got the solution from the maual collection of S7 400. The RAM card is only to expend internal load memory of the CPU and it cannot store the program backup, it need battery for that. The FLASH card is also provids the extension to Load memory, but ut can store the program backup without battery also. Any way thank you very much to all. Please note that in PCS7 you can use only RAM cards, and not EPROM The work memory is fixed and varies depeding on the processor type. The Max load memory that supported by a CPU is given in the performance data for the CPU. Have fun....
