Well Daniel, I’d say the Mayans were not necessarily wrong with their prediction, their calendar though is out by a few billions years. In some 5 billion years from now our humble Planet that we all come home will come to an end, courtesy of our Sun that will have no chance but to run out of fuel, turn into a red Giant and most likelyend up swallowing Earth. No need to panic though, as there is quite some time left. My wish for 2013 (and the years following) is that everyone realises that there is onlyONE inhabitable Planet in our Universe and that welearn to work together as ONE human race to protect its natural beauty and all the creatures big and small that share it with us. After all, we are nothing but temporary caretakers of Planet Earth and owe it to our children to look after it. Call me a dreamer guys, but is up to every one of us to make this a reality and perhaps my dream will come true this X-Mas? Have a safe and happy festive season everyone, I too look forward meeting you all again here next year.
