Hello David; Your CPU has an integrated Profibus port, it can easily be setup as a Profibus-DP master. You will need a Profibus Option board mounted on the MM420 to act as a Profibus slave. You do not need any additional software for this application; only a bit of reading... For starters, general information on the MM420 (parameters, monitoring functions..): Micromaster 420 Operating instructions Then: MicroMaster Profibus option board manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/6586565 MICROMASTER 4 (MM4): Setting up an MM4 with a Profibus module https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/8894363 MICROMASTER 4 (MM4), SINAMICS G120 (CU240S/D, DP/DP-F, PN/PN-F): Essentials for PROFIBUS and PKW-mechanism.(with sample programs) https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/8894584 I suggest you start your program with the examples for Load/Transfer instructions (from the link above) they are much simpler than using SFC14/SFC15 and will work well for a simple application as you described. If you need something more complex, have a look at this sample program: Micromaster 4 and Sinamics G120: Function block (FC14) to control an MM4 via Profibus-DP: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/22078757 You will also fnd many discussions on the subject in the forum, just use the Search box at the top right of this page to locate "MM4 Profibus" for example. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi dchartier, I think one of the links you have provided will be very useful but it happens to be a zip file and I am unsure how to open it on my computer. How can I open it without using WINRAR? Is it possible to see it as a PDF? This link that has the example micromaster project inside: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/8894584 Sorry for the silly question Thanks David |

Hello David, If I understood well does it seem like you want to extract the program from Zip right? save it in the PC then with STEP7 open and then browse and find the location where you saved. Or have you tried with File --> dearchive? Or |
