Micro panels and Serial vs. USB PC/PPI addapters

Floyd Posts: 130 Rating: (1)	I found this in a thread pertaining to Panel Transfers: USB/PPI multimaster cable (released as from "E-Stand 05" and WinCC flexible 2005 SP1) I am unaware of a "E-Stand 05" Cable. Will this allow WinccFlexible to use the USB version of the PC/PPI cable with the TP-177 and 177B series panels? If so, does anyone have a part number? As far as i know, i am stuck using the Serial PC/PPI cable for this. Thanks

Aranel Calafalas Posts: 220 Rating: (14)	Hi Floyd, the partnumber of the USB/PPI-Cable is: 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0 a little how to use, look at following FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/23787153 But as long as your PC have an RS232 interface it's not needed to have the USB-Cable. This will be necessary when you get a new PC/Laptop without this interface. greetings Aranel

Floyd Posts: 130 Rating: (1)	I don't believe the RS232 cable will connect to a processor running 187.5kbaud.. Espcially since i don't know of a PC com-port that does more than 115kbaud (i think thats baud verses kbits). At least i believe thats what microwin was telling me today. We could autodectect the CPU224 but couldnt download the program to a new processor until we dropped the baudrate of the applicable port in the offline file.

Aranel Calafalas Posts: 220 Rating: (14)	Where am I saidsomething from 187,5kBit/s. The USB/PPI or RS232/PPI doesn't run with this Baudrate. It is a kind of serial DOwnload from Flexible to the Panel using Channel 1 (Serial), and it has nothing to do with any communication settings in the configuration. (just in case you meantioned the picture with the communication setting Panel-MicroPLC via MPI(187,5).

Floyd Posts: 130 Rating: (1)	Aranel: I am having a hard time understanding your post. The USB PC/PPI cable does not work with wincccflexible and some (if not all) of the MicroPanels. The Serial PC/PPI cable does not appear to work with a microPLC @ 187.5 kB. Does anyone agree?
