migrate my PLC programming from Step 7 to TIA portal

But this is not the main reason. The main is because people doesn't know what is possible and how to do it. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev Dear Umenco, Presently I am using traditional Step 7 for my PLC programming & wincc works, and never seen TIA portal. And If we can upload the symbol table and comment from the PLC using TIA portal, as disscussed in this thread. then I would like to migrate my PLC programming from Step 7 to TIA portal. Kindly suggest, what do I require for that, I mean TIA portal softwares what type of licences etc ? Reg, Ashish

Is it possible to upload comment and HOW? Regards nadeem The comments are not saved in PLC, however, you may still check in the memory, if someone saved an additional file, or comment file in excel format in the additional space of CPU memory. That's what i do with all my projects. Use Step7 5.x and those options It's possible to save other files on the MMC: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/15399111 And the complete programm, including Symbols and Comments: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/14053219 Personally I don't suggest you to go with TIA yet. Even in a industry in which I am working is not planned to go with TIA. All the info which I read and because Step7 5.x is working pretty good I will stay with "old" software. P.S.
