Hello ecsiberg anyS5 AI that are readvia the IM 463-2 will still have the S5 numeric coding (e.g. 512-2560 for 4..20 mA with 498-AA51 adapters). Apart from writing your own scaling Block for them, you'll also find ready made onesin the "S5-S7 Converting Blocks" library for Step 7. Saying that, I loathe (and refuse to) using any of the Blocks in this library as they are programmed like they were in the S5 which for example means that MB200 up to 255 are used as scratchflags in them. Been there, seen it anddone it myself dear ecsibergand there is absolutely nothing wrong with this staged upgrade approach (which can even be done more selectively by only partial S5 to S7 I/O rack or module migration if available downtime is short). And yes, once you replace the S5 AI cards withS7 AI cards,you will have to go for S7 AI value scaling (minor code change and barely worth mentioning). |
