Migrating Step 7 V5.4 to TIA V11

Rockivy Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	Hi, I am migrating a Step 7 program from Step 7 Version 5.4 SP5 HF1 to TIA Portal V11 SP1 Update 1. The process begins normally extracting the data then fails on Hardware config stating that the processor is not supported (CPU314C-2DP model 6ES7-314-6CG03-0AB0/V2.0) and also states FB2: The interface of DB54 is out of date The classic project is not consistent "S7 Program(1)" needs to be recompiled I replaced the noted controller above in the hardware configuration with the same model but version V2.6 firmware. I checked in the TIA library and that version for that controller does exist. Attempted a new migration and received the same errors. Attempted a migration again and selected "Ignore Hardware Configuration" This time the FB2 and Classic Project errors were still being reported in the log. Has anyone had any similar experiences with this migration? I am assuming that they are all independent of each other and they will have to be corrected individually. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated Thanks Rockivy

Try migrating a test project with say CPU 315 2 dp CPU. with no program in it. FB2 your using is the CRP_IN block of modpid library am i right. Have fun...

In the new window select the 2nd icon "compile all". After this your program should be consistent and updated.

In the new window select the 2nd icon "compile all". After this your program should be consistent and updated. I ran the compile all and the V5.4 Step 7 came up with a warning, I couldn't find anything wrong with the FB or the DB and they are functional in the program. I right mouse clilcked on the FB2 and selected compile from there and that removed the error. Another migration was attempted and it to failed, on a third party GSD file not being available in TIA, however the migration process placed the GSD file in the TIA directory. I went to OPTIONS -> Install general station description file, selected the GSD file copied over in the previous migration, and selected the INSTALL button. Another Migration was attempted and this one was succesful. Thank you all very much it is greatly appreciated and hopefully my few notes will help somebody else with this. Just for information I fixed the failure on migration of the hardware by removing the (1) that existed in the original program. Thanks Rockivy
