migration c7 635

poya_xp Posts: 167 Rating: (4)	Hi mnada i think you have not any respond because of your kind of asking question. you must explain more waht is the problem and what do you mean of migration because C7 and S7 are two seperated family and each of them has it's own adavntages that the other has not. if you want to replace C7 by S7 it means that you do not need the HMI? also i think you know that you can connect additional S7-300 modules to C7-635 if you want to expand the I/O. best regards

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/16/2024 Posts: 12282 Rating: (2683)	Hello mnada; As stated in the following FAQ, Siemens proposes 2 ways of migrating C7 units: - separate hardware (which what is the solution you are pointing to): for example, separate CPU (a S7-314C would replace the CPU in the C7-635 adequately unless the original system used Profibus-DP to connect the I/O, then you would need a CPU 314C-2DP) and a separate HMI unit (such as a TP 177B). Both units will need to be programmed with their own software (Step 7 and WinCC Flexible) and maintained individually. - a WinAC software PLC mounted in a MPxxx HMI unit. The C7 6xx complete devices are to be discontinued in October 2010 what are their successors? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Clearly I have s7 c7 and families are different, is that the equipment is damaged by the work environment that is somewhat acidic air, ie has analogies with inputs and outputs misprints dead., And sometimes hangs cpu product environmental wear. To stop the machine walk I had to change digital inputs digital outputs in the program, but not much can go if one week, one year, etc.. The issue here is that the team is discontinued and the manufacturer and the representative of Siemens collect eight times the value of the part. That's the way guys unfortunately in some countries. My client has in its stock cpu 314-2 PtP so would only have to buy the Analog Input Modules Digital I, why was the query, whether it was feasible to migrate to this equipment and enough for this application the type of CPU is my client, because that model 314 siemens cpu will not discontinue. As I can use an op hmi 177 or a PC with WinCC flexible 8 that place a few days ago that c7 635 console does not go well at all and it is using the machine from the PC on the floor. Well clarified these issues reaches a 314-2PtP with minimal change in the program or would have to adapt the program to the plc. Thanks in advance Estimados gracias por responder. Tengo claro que c7 y s7 son familias diferentes, es que el equipo esta dañado por el ambiente de trabajo que es algo acido el aire, es decir tiene entradas analogias con erratas y salidas digitales muertas,.y la cpu a veces se cuelga producto del desgaste del ambiente. Para dejar andando la maquina tuve que hacer cambios de entradas digitales salidas digitales en el programa, pero no se cuanto mas puede andar si 1 semana , 1 año, etc. El tema aqui es que el equipo esta discontinuado y el fabricante y el representante de siemens le cobrar 8 veces mas el valor del repuesto. Asi son las cosas en algunos paises chicos lamentablemente. Mi cliente tiene en su almacen cpu 314-2 PtP por lo que solo tendria que comprar los modulos de entradas analogicas y o digitales, Por eso era la consulta, si era viable migrar a este equipo y si alcanzaba para esta aplicacion el tipo de cpu que tiene mi cliente, por que de ese modelo cpu 314 siemens no las va a discontinuar. Como hmi puedo usar una op 177 o un pc con wincc flexible 8 que colocamos hace unos dias por que la consola del c7 635 no anda para nada bien y se esta usando la maquina desde la pc en el piso. Bueno aclarados estos temas alcanza una 314-2PtP con el minimo cambio en el programa o tendria que adaptar el programa a este plc. Gracias desde ya

SIPLUS CPU 314: https://eb.automation.siemens.com/mall/en/WW/Catalog/Products/10031882?tree=catalogtree SIPLUS TP 177B: https://eb.automation.siemens.com/mall/en/WW/Catalog/Products/10090702?tree=catalogtree Look in the tab « Product Information » for more information on chemical atmosphere protection. The selection of SIPLUS equipment for your next purchases would be a better choice, they would last longer in acidic environments. You should place that recommendation to your client. Second, changing CPUs in the program should be easy, but you would need to match the IO addresses used in the C7 program to the IO addresses used by the integrated IO of the S7-314C especially the integrated IOs, they do not start at 0.0). Start by opening the C7 program, insert a new CPU and select the S7-314C with the correct order number. Then copy the program from the C7 , open the following link and follow HDHosseinini's good advice, it is the easiest way. Then run the program, if you go to STOP mode open the diagnostic buffer of thew CPU to find out what addresses you have to change in the program to adapt to the new CPU. Note that if you have trouble with the HMI program it might also be a problem of accessing the wrong addresses in the PLCfrom the TP 177B. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Take PtP CPU 312-2 which my client has added digital input modules and analog to equal the C7 635 and start modifying the program at hand. Step 7 in the fact that process had already copied the program to new CPU 314 obviously fails me because I still have not reached the input modules, but handwriting plc new addresses to 314 with the copied program, also scale the analog inputs lei forum out there who take different c7 value to 314, and then see how I do with the console in the program that much data they exchange ............ .. I owe your answers ...........
