Migration S7. From CPU 314 to CPU 312.

Carlos7 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi all, There is something we should know if we're migrating from a discontinued 314 CPU (6ES7 314-5AE01-0AB0) to a 312 CPU (6ES7312-5BF04-0AB0), meaning any differences at the instruction set or available function blocks, any restrictions, etc. Thanks a lot. Carlos A

But there is a big difference in the amount of onboard i/o. Old 314 IFM SIMATIC S7-300, CPU 314 IFM COMPACT CPU WITH MPI, 16DI/16DO, 4AI/1AO, 2 X 40 PIN, INTEGRATED 24V DC POWER SUPPLY, 24 KBYTE WORKING MEMORY New(er) 312 IFM SIMATIC S7-300, CPU 312C COMPACT CPU WITH MPI, 10 DI/6 DO, 2 FAST COUNTERS (10 KHZ), INTEGRATED 24V DC POWER SUPPLY, 64 KBYTE WORKING MEMORY, FRONT CONNECTOR (1 X 40PIN) AND MICRO MEMORY CARD REQUIRED So if you need the analog i/o and more digital i/o you have to look for other type oradd some i/o. Anyway, you might have to make some changes in the program, because adresses can be different. Regards, Marcjan
