Mitsubishi Q Series Connection to S7 vis Ethernet

Safety1 Posts: 73 Rating: (20)	Hello All, I am looking at alternate methods of communicating between Q Series and S7 300PNDP. I know the Q Series can be a Profibus Master or Slave. The customer already has an ethernet module. Therefore the least expensive method [assuming program engineering is not too complex] would be to use Open TCP [open socket communications]. I have read the Q series manuals and it looks like the Q supports open TCP but it is not very clear. Has anyone successfully implemented OPEN TCP between S7 and Mits Q series? How difficult was it? Are there any program examples for this S7 and Q connection? Thanks!!!! Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I think, if the Processor used on customer side fully supports the RFC 793 that the communication should work... on the S7 you need to use the T-Communication blocks, please check the manual System Software for S7-300/400 System and Standard Functions Chapter 23. Furthermore you may need to use the Open Communication Wizard to configure the Connection for the PN Interface, check this: Generating the Connection Data for the open TCP/IP Communication using the Open Communication Wizard I hope this may help you.
