MM440 with CP-340

Hi,

I have read many of your commnets on diffrent issues. U seems like genius in Siemens Technology. I require your help.

I want to communicate MM440 with CP-340? how is it possible? what protocol will be used? Is there any sample for the same?

thank you very much for the compliments... but this is not necessary.

About the capability of the MM440 I know that the RS485 interface used with the MM440 is capable of the protocols:

• USS and
• PROFIBUS DP.

As the protocol USS is sadly not directly supported by the S7-300 and S7-400 I would rather recommend the use of PROFIBUS DP instead. But if you insist on the use of the USS Protocol you may have to chances to do so:

1. You program the USS Stack yourself. To do so you may use the description of the protocol at:

2. If you want to use preconfigured Function blocks you need to get the DRIVE ES Library. This libraryprovides to youthe supportof the USS Protocol.
For more details about DRIVE ES you need to contact your Sales department or the Customer Support.
